The 20 percent discount given to those in the shortage occupation list will also be removed. The government has clarified that the new move is to address the concerns of citizens due to significant changes in public services, availability of houses and jobs due to immigration. The restrictions come as the gap between the number of people immigrating to the UK and the number of citizens leaving the UK has reached a record.The government has been under constant pressure from MPs to urgently take adequate measures to reduce the number of citizens leaving the UK. At the same time, it has been suggested that the new move may have a negative impact on the UK’s economy, NHS operations and the education sector. Tommy Vattavanal reports from London.
